Cranberry Bread

This bread is wonderful toasted with butter or just spread with cream cheese. I bet you won’t be able to only eat one slice.

Dissolve yeast in water, add sugar to water dissolve stir. In mixing bowl combine eggs, oil, salt, cinnamon, dough enhancer, stir to combine. Add yeast, mix to combine, add 2 cups of flour mix until well blended and sticky. Add remaining flour 1 cup at a time. Knead a few minutes, dough will be a bit sticky. Cover bowl with plastic wrap let double in size.

Punch dough down, cut dough in half. Cut each half of dough into three pieces. Form into 12 inch snakes. Braid. Place on greased cookie sheet to raise, cover with plastic wrap sprayed with non stick spray. Let raise until double.

Combine 1 tablespoon water with egg yolk. Baste on raised bread. Place in oven preheated to 375 degrees. Bake 30 minutes. Cover with tin foil if too crust gets too dark.

  • 1 cup warm water 114 degrees
  • 2 package yeast
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 4 eggs one divided
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 5½ cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoon gluten or dough enhancer
  • 1-5ounce package cranberries
