This is an old family recipe. It does not have a tunnel of fudge but that is what we call it. It is very rich and decadent.
- 1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
- 1 small pkg. chocolate instant pudding
- ¾ c. water
- ¾ c. vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. sour cream
- ¾ c. pecans, chopped
- 2 c. chocolate chips (semi sweet, milk, or white)
- Powdered sugar
- Mix cake mix, pudding mix, water, oil, eggs, and sour cream; beat for about 4 minutes. Fold in the chocolate chips. Spray pan with nonstick spray, line bottom with parchment paper. Sprinkle nuts onto paper in bottom of pan. Pour batter in pan. Cover pan with a cookie sheet. Bakes at 350º for 30 minutes. Remove cookie sheet bake 15-20 minutes until cake springs back when touched. Let rest 10 minutes, separate sides from pan with a butter knife, shake and juggle a bit to release from pan. Invert on plate. Cool completely before cutting.
